the remote server returned an error: (503)

I had a problem the other day where I brought in my mobile ESX lab to show off some VDI. I plugged in the server and then once booted, tried to connect to the ESX server. I got an error...

"the remote server returned an error: (503) "

There was more to the error message but you get the idea. So I connected a keyboard to the server and logged into the console and ran the following command to get things back up and running.
/etc/init.d/vmware-webAccess restart
This restarted the web service which was needed to connect the VI client to the server.

View 4 Blank or Black Screen

I was working on a VDI solution for the Cincinnati VMUG and running into a problem when I ran full screen on anything with a large monitor (over 1280x1024). I would get a disconnect or blank/black screen. If I ran it in large window setting it worked perfectly. I figured it had to be a problem with the video card setting in the Virtual Machine. After looking around the settings I thought I would change the video card ram from 8MB to 64MB. I figured that the video card settings with only 8MB couldn't handle the higher resolution. After changing the setting I tried it again with success.
